[Also in Division E2] In pruners or secateurs in which blades 4 are biased to the open or closed position by a spring 5, one handle 2 is provided with a manually - operable spring- loaded plunger 12 which, in the closed or open position of the blades, engages in a recess 13 or aperture in the other handle 3 to lock the blades. The wall of the recess or aperture may be provided with an undercut or screw - thread cooperating with a projection on, or a part carried by, the plunger or a notch on the plunger may co-operate with a projection on the wall of the recess or aperture.
