Abstract

[Also in Division B4] Excessive tightening of the pivot pin 8 of a secateur-like tool is obviated by utilising as the pivot therefor a screw of the type shown. the shoulder 26 thereof bearing on a circular boss 11 in a recess (6) in one handle of the tool, Fig. 6 (not shown) to prevent excessive insertion of the threaded portion 24 into a tapped hole 12 in the boss. The pin is held in place without separate locking means. The part 22 of the pivot seats in a hole in the other handle of the tool, which carries a removable blade (4) Fig. 3 (not shown) a hole (10) therein just accommodating the length of part (23). A coil spring round said boss (11) biases the handles to the open position.
