Abstract

734,388. Fibre drafting apparatus. CASABLANCAS HIGH DRAFT CO., Ltd. April 22, 1954 [June 1, 1953], No. 15267/53. Class 120(2). Double-belt drafting apparatus is provided with a cradle that has side walls 6 formed with apertures 10 shaped to enable a tensor member 1 to swing and slide therein whilst supporting the front end of a belt 2, the member 1 occupying a forwardly inclined position in operation (not shown) and a more vertical position (as shown) when pressure from the co-operating belt is released. When taut belts are employed, especially those made of synthetic materials, the automatic release of tension by movement of the tensor member 1 is particularly useful and insertion of the member into the belt loop is facilitated. Necks 1b at the ends of the member 1 rest in a bulbous part 10b of the aperture 10 which merges into a part 10c of greater inclination than the rear edge 10a. A handle 1c is formed on one neck 1b. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 698,146.
