Abstract

1,274,434. Cleaning spinning chambers; break spinners. ELITEX-ZAVODY TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI GENERALNI REDITELSTVI. 10 Feb., 1970 [20 Feb., 1969], No. 6229/70. Headings DID and D1F. A method of cleaning spinning chambers in break-spinning machines is characterised in that the air flow, by which separated fibres 8 are fed into the spinning chamber, is imparted a pulsing motion, after deflection from a wall 15 which slopes towards a collecting surface of the chamber before escaping through vents 17, by at least one stationary projection 18 extending into the chamber. The body 19 of a separating mechanism 1 is provided with a channel 9 inclined to the direction of feeding fibres 8 from the separating mechanism, the channel 9 opening at one end into the ambient atmosphere and at the other end in a direction substantially perpendicular to the wall 15 of the chamber. The projection 18 can be in the form of a wing 20 or a rib. The yarn produced at point 16 is withdrawn from the chamber via hollow screw set in the body part 19 of the separating mechanism. The pulsing motion imparted to the air flow prevents dirt entrained in the fibres from settling and the dirt is carried away on the air flow via vents 17.
