Abstract

1,161,767. Pneumatically cleaning spinning frames. PARKS-CRAMER CO. 26 Aug., 1966 [1 Sept., 1965], No. 38329/66. Heading D1F. Dust and fly are removed from the lower and underframe areas of spinning frames beneath the drafting area, and particularly where rotating spindles create a windage barrier, by air streams leaving the nozzles of a travelling blowing apparatus at a speed of at least 7,500 feet per minute. The blowing apparatus is mounted on an overhead carriage and has a depending blowing tube mounted on each side of the spinning frame. Each blowing nozzle is formed by a tubular body about an inch in diameter. Further blowing nozzles, which have a very small opening from the blowing tube into the tubular body so that an air jet emanating from the opening is slowed down in the tubular body, are provided at the foot and upper portions of each blowing tube. Blowing ducts may be provided adjacent the creel and drafting rollers of the frame suction apparatus having suction nozzles at floor level may also be mounted on the overhead carriage.
