Abstract

1385389 Cleaning machines PARKS-CRAMER CO 4 May 1972 [7 May 1971] 20900/72 Heading D1F [Also in Division F4] In the operation of pneumatic apparatus for removing lint and like waste fibres from a spinning frame (or group thereof), an overhead housing travels back and forth on a track along the machine(s) while air flow is maintained through the housing and dependent flexible blowing and suction tubes terminating in nozzles which "sweep" the aisle space and machine parts to and on one side of the machine. When the housing approaches one or each end of the track and its forward travel is arrested, prior to and in preparation for its return travel it is rotated about a vertical axis overlying the machine and passes around the end thereof (carrying with it the tubes) to a position on the opposite side thereof, the air flow meanwhile continuing. The sequence of operations is automatically controlled by limit stop and/or cam actuation of switches and relays energising circuits to which electric drive motors are responsive.
