907,545. Cleaning textile spinning machines. SULZER FRERES S.A. Feb. 8, 1960 [Feb. 10, 1959; Nov. 4, 1959], No. 4399/60. Class 120 (3). Curtains of compressed air 206 issuing from downwardlydirected nozzles 205 extending above and along opposite sides of a row of spinning machines serve to combine dust generated thereby and allow the operative a clear view of the moving threads. Dust settling is prevented by a conventional travelling blower 210 drawing air from slots 207 in the nozzle feed pipes 203 connected to a blower 201, Fig. 1 (not shown), drawing in part through broken thread end catching nozzles 212 and a suction duct 214 and in part from the atmosphere through a filter 219 and a duct 218. Blower intake air is conditioned by a water spray. In a modification the outer side of each air curtain 286, Fig. 4 (not shown), is guided by a transparent plastic vertically adjustable screen formed of individual strips between 10 and 50 cm. wide.
