Abstract

In a textile machine-for example a pirn winding machine or a doubling or spinning machine-in which a yarn package and yarn guides are mounted in an enclosure, the enclosure has a service opening therein, a curtain of air directed across the opening, a second curtain of air directed over the interior side of the enclosure opposite the opening, and suction means to withdraw the dust and fly entrained by the curtains of air. As described the enclosure has a plurality of cheese packages, which are being unwound, mounted therein, and is formed by an air supply duct at the top and an air suction duct at the bottom. The air supply duct may have a nozzle to direct air over the yarn guides. Air sucked in through the suction duct passes through a fan and dust collector either to the air supply duct, or partially to the duct and partially into the atmosphere. In the latter case the air supply duct has an adjustable damper. The cheeses may be separated by plates.
