Abstract

982,604. Spinning and twisting machines. T. M. M. (RESEARCH) Ltd. Jan. 28, 1964 [Dec. 13, 1962], No. 47173/62. Headings DID and D1F. In a textile ring spinning and twisting machine, spindle 10 is encased at least before and behind to form an enclosure from which loose fibres, fly, and dust are removed by suction. Frout sheet 121, of metal or transparent plastics, is hinged about a horizontal or vertical axis. Suction ducts 15 may be positioned as shown and/or may be placed beneath ring rail 20 or attached thereto. The sides of the enclosure around each spindle may be encased by baloon separators 13 fixed to rail 20 or to spindle rail 22. The induced air streams also cool the ring and traveller thereby increasing the permissible maximum operating speed without excessive wear.
