A spinning frame has the creel and drafting rollers enclosed so that temperature and humidity within the enclosure might be controlled. The enclosure may be formed by lower and upper cover parts 14<1>, 122, both of which may be provided with doors. A duct 16 communicates with a source of temperature and humidity adjusted air. Instead of the creel bobbins 18, sliver cans may be mounted behind the drafting rollers 13.
