Abstract

874,772. Creels. CASANOVAS, J. M. S. March 24, 1960 [April 1, 1959; Aug. 29, 1959], No. 10427/60. Class 120(2) Sliver cans are supported in a creel by plates which may be secured to the bases of the cans and are so pivoted in the creel that each can may be rocked in a vertical plane to facilitate access to its interior. The plates are preferably locked in working position and pivotable through 45 degrees. The cans may be mounted in two rows, the cans 5 held in plates 4 pivoted on a bar 1 and the cans 15 held in plates 14 each pivoted on an arm 12 of a two-arm lever 10, 12 so that it is normally supported in front of a can 5 but may be rotated in a horizontal plane to a position in front of an adjacent can 15 to provide access to a can 5. A guide, comprising a fixed rod 22 clipped on to each can, exerts a braking force on the slivers 25.
