Abstract

853,166. Brake for textile spindles. WHITIN MACHINE WORKS. July 7, 1958 [Feb. 21, 1958], No. 21714/58. Class 120(2). [Also in Group XXXIV] A brake for spinning. &c. spindles comprises members 31 to embrace opposite sides of the spindle, yielding means (e.g. a spring member 32) tending to apply the brake but normally held apart by a cam 53 operated by a handle 50 all the working parts being mounted in a casing 21, except the handle which is preferably above the casing. The device is supported on a plate 40, by headed studs and the front of the casing is hinged to give access to the parts inside.
