In a gill box provided with only one set of fallers 1, the faller pins have their points directed downwardly throughout their entire movement and a jet of air from blowing means 3 serves to hold fibres in the pins. Tendency for laps to accumulate on rollers 5, 6 is reduced by jets of air from a blowing means 7.
