Abstract

549,720. Moistening yarn in ring spinning frames. THOMPSON, G. H. Sept. 24, 1941, No. 12343 [Class 120 (ii)] A ring-spinning frame has the creels enclosed or substantially enclosed by a cabinet-like structure to which air of the required temperature and humidity to give the best spinning conditions, is supplied. The enclosing structure need not be air tight, and, as shown, the ends d<SP>3</SP> and the panels or doors of the cabinet D terminate above the drawing- heads C. The structure D encloses the creels supporting the bobbins B, the yarns b and also the reserve bobbins B<SP>1</SP>. The panels are of frame construction and windows d<SP>1</SP>, d<SP>2</SP> are provided for inspection purposes and for the detection of broken ends. Humidified air is supplied from the perforated pipe E.
