Abstract

A conveyor which is provided with bobbin holders and supplies empty bobbins to and receives wound bobbins from a textile machine - for example a spinning frame - is movable pass the machine, a first station where empty bobbins are loaded onto the holders, a second station where would bobbins are unloaded from the holders, and a pneumatic cleaning unit which removes dust and fly from the holders. As described the cleaning unit is positioned between the two stations and cleans the wound bobbins before they are unloaded, when the conveyor moves in one direction, and cleans the bobbin holders before empty bobbins are loaded when the conveyor moves in the other direction. The unit comprises blowing and/or suction nozzles. A drum filter may be positioned between the suction nozzle and pump. There may be separate nozzles for the bobbin holders and the bobbin. The nozzles may have valves therein which are opened as the bobbins or holders pass them. In one embodiment the blowing nozzle is reciprocated lengthwise of the bobbin.
