[Also in Group XXX] A conveyer adapted to be periodically reversed so as alternately to deliver empty bobbins B to chucks 35 on an overhead conveyer 37 (Fig. 2), and to receive full bobbins BP (Fig. 3), from chucks 39 on the overhead conveyer for delivery to a container 61, comprises an endless belt 11 carrying two alternating series of bobbin holders 31, 33. The holders 31 are adapted to receive the full bobbins and having a conical face inclined steeply to the perpendicular allow the full bobbins to fall off as they travel from the horizontal run supported by table 15 to the vertical run 11b (Fig. 3). The holders 33 which are in use when the conveyer belt is reversed (Fig. 2) have a conical face gradually inclined to the perpendicular to correspond approximately with the bobbins B but having an end portion 33c more steeply inclined to facilitate positioning of the bobbins thereon. Feeding of the empty bobbins is effected automatically by a pusher 45 operated by a pneumatic cylinder 43 controlled by an electromagnetic valve 49. The valve is opened as each holder 33 arrives opposite a feed shoot 55 for the empty bobbins by contact of the operating arm 47a of a switch 47 with the next following holder. Alternatively, Fig. 4, each holder 33 may have a projection 33a which operates the switch 47. In either ease the switch 47 is not operated by the holders 31. Reversal of the belt 11 at each end of its travel is effected by manually operating a changeover switch 17 after the belt has been stopped automatically through contact of limit stops 21, 23 with the operating arm of a switch 19 which can be by-passed by a start switch 25.
