Abstract
711,918. Suction end-catchers for spinning machines; cleaning machines. THOMA. H. Nov. 28, 1951 [Nov. 28, 1950; March 7, 1951], No. 27967/51. Classes 120(2) and 120(3) Suction apparatus for removing broken threads in a spinning machine comprises a suction fan mounted on a vertical shaft within a suction box located above the creel, the fan drawing air through a filter screen from a collecting channel extending lengthwise of the machine. In an embodiment, a fan 8 driven by a motor 7 draws air through suction nozzles adjacent the running threads into a collecting channel 3, from which it may pass through a vertical connecting channel 11 to a combined blower and filter box 10 provided with a horizontal filter screen 12. Air expelled by the fan 8 passes along a duct 16 and outwardly and downwardly through nozzles 18 to maintain the creel 1 and bobbins 2 free from flying fibres and dust. Alternatively, the expelled air may pass directly from the blower box to the spinning room. Instead of the filter box being above the creel, a filter screen may be located in the vertical channel 11. Opennings, such as 13, 14, may be provided in the filter boxes for'removing broken thread material.
