Claims priority, application Germany November 28, 1950 Z Claims.
This invention relates to an improvement in a spinning machine, in particular in the method and device for removing thread breakage and ily.
The improvement resides in the arrangement of the filter box and of the means for producing an air stream in a thread breakage sucking plant for spinning machines, which plant is combined with blowing-off means.
It is an object of the invention to save power required for sucking and discharging the ily, and to provide for a convenient discharge of the ber fly.
The drawing shows the construction and arrangement of the essential parts of a thread breakage sucking means mounted above the end framing of a ring spinning machine.

I is the end framing of the spinning machine, 2 the roller beam, 3 the spindle rail, and 4 are the last bobbins adjacent to the end of the machine. is the motor for driving the fan wheel I3, 'I is the collecting channel, 8 the ilter box, 9 the filter basket, and Ii) the air discharge channel. II designates naps giving access to the box for the removal of filter residue from the same.
I4 designates the last roving bobbins adjacent to the end of the machine, I5 are drawing rollers and I6 supporting brackets therefor.
On both sides of the collecting channel 1 there are arranged connecting tubes I1, which tubes are provided with suction heads I8 at their outer ends, said suction heads I8 having suction openings I9 directed against the delivery side of the drawing rollers I5.
Actuating of the bobbins 4 is accomplished by a driving cylinder 2li extending over the whole length of the spinning machine. Endless belts 22 are provided and each of said belts connects overl a tension block 2! a group of four bobbins 4, two of said bobbins being arranged on both sides of the spinning machine.
The fan wheel 6 driven by the flange motor 5 sucks the air from the collecting channel Tl into the filter box 8 through the walls of the lter basket 9 and impels it into the channel I0 extending above the creel. Longitudinal downwardly opening slots I 2 are provided on both sides of this channel to permit of an escape of the air, which is guided for example by baiiles to blow over the creel, the drawing rollers, and the other parts of the machine to prevent deposits of fly.
It is apparent that the substantially vertical filter box is directly connected to the collecting channel 'l so that the air laden with thread breakage reaches the lter basket, which is also arranged substantially vertically in the lter box, without the otherwise conventional deviation bends serving to connect the collecting channel to the filter box. The arrangement of the fan wheel E with its vertical shaft in a fan casing provided at the top end of the filter box and at the level of the discharge channel also eliminates any deviation of the air stream by means of a bend in the line. Thus the power necessary to produce suction and compression is'reduced. The elimination of the deviation bends in the line ensures a higher eiciency of the plant.
The accommodation of the ltering means substantially at the lower end of the vertical nlter box 8 permits of providing the aps II for removing the filter residue from the box or filter at a mans shoulder height for convenient access to facilitate the discharge of the fiber material collected. These flaps II are provided with windows I3 through which the filter can be supervised.
What I claim is:
1. A device for removing thread breakage from a spinning machine having end frames, said device comprising in combination a vertical filter box arranged over an end frame, a lter in said box, side flaps in said box, a horizontal collecting channel directly opening in the underportion of said lter box, ahorizontal ventilator housing over said iilter box, a motor having a horizontal ventilator wheel connected thereto, said wheel being mounted in said housing and a horizontal air discharge channel directly connected with said ventilator housing and extending in the direction of said collecting channel.

A device for removing thread breakage and ny from a spinning machine having end frames, said device comprising in combination a vertical lter box arranged over an end frame, a lter in said box, side flaps in said box, a horizontal collecting channel directly opening in the underportion of said filter box, a horizontal ventilator housing over said filter box, a motor having a horizontal ventilator wheel connected thereto, said Wheel being mounted in said housing and a horizontal air discharge channel directly con- 3 nected with said Ventilator housing and extending over the machine in the direction of said co1- lecting channel, and air discharge slots on the air discharge channel which are directed down- Wardly out of the machine.
