Abstract

959,969. Cleaning machines. HALL & KAY Ltd. May 17,1963 [July 25, 1962], No. 28539/62. Headings DID and D1F. A spinning, doubling or like machine having a ring rail is provided with nozzle arrangement whereby filtered air, the temperature and humidity of which have been conditioned, is caused to flow over the ring rail to keep the traveller, ring and ring rail clear of fly and to ensure that the traveller does not overheat. In the form shown, a duct 24 attached to the or each ring rail 12 of a spinning machine is fed via a tube 29 from a stationary duct 23 with filtered and conditioned air which is emitted from a series of orifices 25 in the duct 24. The tubular connection 29 is extensible and concertina-like to allow for the traversing of the ring rail. A plate 27 is provided in the duct 24 to confine the jets.
