(Also in Division F4] In a method of cleaning a floor of a textile mill having rows of textile machinery-for example spinning frames or weaving looms-in which a suction nozzle 30 travels along the floor at one side of the row, there is an air stream 46 directing dust etc. towards the nozzle 30 and an air barrier formed by air stream 50 to prevent the dust from being blown into the aisles between the rows. A suction cleaner 10 mounted on track T above the machinery and having suction nozzles 30, 30<SP>1</SP>, air impeller 16 and dust collection chamber 21 with filter 23 and door 22, is connected by rod 14 to blowing cleaner 11 which has blowing nozzles 45, 47 at floor level connected by tubes 40, 41 to impeller 36. Alternatively (Fig. 5 not shown) there may be a combined travelling suction and blowing apparatus having an impeller for sucking air from nozzles 30a 30a<SP>1</SP> through filters and then blowing the air out through nozzles to form an air barrier on each side of the row with a corresponding air stream. In a third embodiment two air streams 46 intersect under the machinery and deflect each other back to their own sides (Fig. 7 not shown), while in a fourth embodiment an additional air current may be formed by the main driving cylinder of the machines which combines the two streams 46 which come from opposite sides into one stream directed towards a suction nozzle 30.
