Abstract

1406000 Open end spinning stations F STAHLECKER and H STAHLECKER 12 Dec 1973 [14 Dec 1972] 57542/73 Headings DID and D1N A cover of the opening apparatus at an open end spinning station carries an insert 15 containing a portion of the fibre feed channel 14 and the thread removal channel 20 said cover being retained by a locking means 19 which is adjustable from the outside in the closed position. The locking means 19 comprises a swivel lever 24 operated by a slide 30. The swivel lever 24 is threaded through an axle 25 so that it can be adjusted from outside the cover to set the extent of penetration of the insert 15 into the spinning rotor. External marks 22, 23 are used to gauge the extent of this penetration. Further adjustability is provided by the insert being mounted by an eccentric axle 16. The opening and feeding members 13 and 11 respectively are mounted in a supporting member 9 and the fibre feed channel 14 is provided with a resilient seal 32 where the support 9 and the insert 15 join. A cleaning chamber 34 is provided for the opener 13 with an associated cleaning flap 35.
