727,774. Fuel-injection pumps. SATZGER, E. May 13, 1953 [May 15, 1952], No. 13409/53. Class 102 (1). In a fuel-injection pump, the delivery valve comprises a cup-shaped member 6 making fluid-tight contact with, and guided in, a member 9 engaging a cylinder liner 4 and clamped by a nipple 7, a sealing ring 10 being interposed. The valve member 6 seats directly on the end of the cylinder liner 4 and has radial ports 16. The pump chamber 12 communicates with an annular groove 15 in the guide member 9 through grooves 13 and passages 14. The valve member 6 is loaded by a spring 8 and delivery commences after it has been raised sufficiently for the ports 16 to align with the groove 15 ; on closing, the movement after the ports 16 are closed, relieves pressure in the delivery.pipe to prevent drip. The cylinder liner has an inlet port 2 and a by-pass port 3 controlled by a control edge on the piston 1.
