Abstract
725,310. Bolts. HOLZ, E. Feb. 13, 1953 [Feb. 20, 1952], No. 4123/53. Class 89 (1). [Also in Groups XXI and XXII] A bolt or the like adapted to be inserted by gas pressure from an exploded charge is characterized by the provision of a detachable point. A bolt comprises, a shaft 1 Fig. 1, with a threaded extension 2 having a detachable threaded point 3, which may be of a harder material, screwed thereon. A bolt head 5 has a cone at its rear end for receiving and positioning a cartridge case. In a modification, Fig. 2, the bolt shaft 11 has an internal thread into which a threaded extension 12 on the point 13 is screwed. The bolt head 15 is also threaded. The point may be secured to the bolt shaft by a frangible connection such as a pin or notched nail. The bolt head may be provided with a detachable flange to suit the construction of the cartridge and may be provided with an internal thread.
