Projectile-like bolt to be fired into metal has an ogival nose 1 behind which is a frusto-conical bulge 3 merging into the frusto-conical stem 5 which is surmounted by a cylindrical head 9. The bulge 3 has a knurled surface, the ribs 18 so formed being inclined to the axis of the bolt.
