Abstract
681,977. Ammunition projectiles. ANSTALT FUR DIE ENTWICKLUNG VON ERFINDUNGEN UND GEWERBLICHEN ANWENDUNGEN ENERGA. Jan. 10, 1950 [Jan. 17, 1949], No. 18486/51. Divided out of 681,916. Classes 9(i) and 9(ii) A rocket projectile with a tubular combustion chamber leading to a nozzle assembly on which stabilizing blades are mounted has at least one nozzle of the assembly provided with a recess in its internal surface to impart rotation to the projectile. The recess is formed by a conical tool. The axis of the tool may be maintained parallel to the axis of the nozzle so that the recess is part of the surface of a cone with axis parallel to the nozzle axis. Into the chamber 3, on which blades 4, 5 are mounted as in Specification 681,916, is screwed a part 6 equipped with nozzles 7 closed by membranes 8, each membrane being held in place by a collar 10. The nozzle carrier is machined or cast in aluminium or a light alloy, while the collar is of heat-resisting material, e.g. steel. In each nozzle is a milled recess 9. The propellant 15 in the combustion cham- . ber is in the form of hollow cylindrical rods resting on an annular grid 16 as described in Specification 681,978.
