Abstract
681,978. Ammunition projectiles. ANSTALT FUR DIE ENTWICKLUNG VON ERFINDUNGEN UND GEWERBLICHEN ANWENDUNGEN ENERGA. Jan. 10, 1950 [Jan. 17, 1949], No. 18487/51. Divided out. of 681,916. Classes 9(i) and 9(ii) A rocket projectile with a tubular combustion chamber. containing the propellant and leading into a nozzle assembly is provided with a grid acting as a filter between the propellant, e.g. sticks of powder, and the nozzles. The filter is annular and in cross-section is. vaulted, the convex surface of the grid being directed forwardly. The rocket has a tail 3 forming the combustion chamber and equipped with stabilizing blades 4, 5, as described in Specification 681,916. Into the tail 3 is screwed a nozzle assembly as described in Specification 681,977. An axially disposed tube 14 contains ignition powder initiated as described in Specification 681,916. The powder ignites the propellant through lateral holes in the tube 14. The propellant comprises hollow cylindrical sticks 15 arranged around the tube 14 and resting on the annular grid 16 with a vault-like section. The openings 17 of the grid, which are laterally arranged, prevent unburnt particles of powder entering the nozzles.
