Abstract
825,003. Anchor-bolts &c. BAYLISS. JONES & BAYLISS Ltd. March 2, 1956 [March 2, 1955], No. 6144/55. Class 89(1) An anchor-bolt for mine roofs &c., and intended to be removable for reuse, comprises a bolt - member 11, Fig. 1, with a wedge head 20, and a sleeve 10 with expandable shells 14 secured thereto at its inner end by a rubber sleeve 18, and a thrust plate 22 secured thereto at its outer end. The bolt-member is drawn down relatively to the sleeve, e.g. by a wedge 24, Fig. 2, engaging a slot 23 in the bolt, or by a nut engaging a screwed end on the bolt, or by cam means. The wedge has surfaces 25, 26 to set the bolt, and tension the bolt member, respectively. A projection 27 on the thrust plate is engageable, e.g. by a pick, to withdraw the bolt from the bore.
