Abstract

The front end of the spanner has a recess, to surround the nut (8) over part of its length during screwing on/off. The spanner has a base (4) with a central aperture (6), to allow the passage of a threaded bolt (7), etc. onto which the nut is screwed. The spanner circumference has radially projecting wings (3). These wings turn together with spanner and nut, when hit by a hammer, to move the nut. The recess to accommodate the nut is multicornered, and has the same number of surfaces, extending parallel to the axis of the threaded bolt, as the nut has edges. The base of the spanner acts as an abutment for the rear surface of the nut.
