Abstract

The bolt has a parallel shank (1) with a hexagonal head (2). At the end of the parallel portion of the shank is a sharply tapered part (4) to a further parallel and threaded portion (3). The threaded portion (3) receives a cylindrical nut (5) which is formed with inclined slots (6). When the nut and bolt are tightened the nut bears on the tapered part (4) of the bolt, its slots allowing it to expand. The assembly may be used as an anchoring device in concrete.
