Abstract
724,002. Jointing by stamping. WEITKOWITZ, G. April 21, 1952 [April 19, 1951], No. 10010/52. Class 83 (4). The sleeve 3, Fig. 1, of a metal terminal connection is pressed on to the end of an electrical conductor 2 with the formation of circumferential indentations 5 in such a manner that the wall portions of the sleeve between the indentations are.reduced to form rib-like projections 16. The pressing operation is effected by manually actuated tongs or in a press, Fig. 5, with relatively movable jaws 6, 7 which have semi-cylindrical recesses to receive the sheath and annular projections to form the indentations 5. An abutment mounted on the base of the press determines the extent of insertion of the sheath into the jaws.
