[Also in Group XXVIII] A gas-turbine plant in which air is compressed, passed through a rotating pressure exchanger into a combustion chamber or heat exchanger, then again through the rotating pressure exchanger to drive a turbine has guide vanes between the combustion chamber or heat exchanger and the rotor of the pressure exchanger to lead the hot gases passing tangentially into the periphery of the rotor and other guide vanes between the rotor and combustion chamber or heat exchanger to guide the fresh air out of the rotor. Air compressed in the compressor 2 passes through an opening 12 into chambers 14 formed between the radial blades 15 of a pressure exchanger rotor 3. This air expels the residual gases in the rotor through the opening 22 to the exhaust 22a. The rotor chambers 14 after rotation reach the opening 17 and hot gases from the combustion chamber or heat exchanger 16 flow tangentially into the rotor chambers and compress the fresh air. After further rotation of the rotor the opening 18 is reached and the fresh compressed air enters the combustion chamber or heat exchanger 16. After passing the opening 18, the rotor contains preponderantly hot gas which passes through the opening 13 and the guiding device 6 to the turbine 7. Guide vanes 19 are provided to lead the hot gas tangentially on to the periphery of the rotor 3 and guide vanes 20 to lead the hot air out of the rotor. Specification 559,839 is referred to.
