Abstract
610,572. Elastic-fluid turbines. KAPITZA, P. L. April 8, 1946, No. 10778. [Class 110 (iii)] In an inward radial-flow turbine having guide blades 3 in an annular inlet chamber extending around the periphery of the rotor 4, the rotor passages 11 increase in cross-section from the rotor periphery towards the centre, and the gas stream flowing through the rotor 4 is divided into two streams flowing in opposite directions by a circular guide member 7 on the rotor shaft. Each stream passes through a further rotor 16 before entering an exhaust pipe 9. The rotors 16 may be omitted.
