Abstract

1318167 Turbines CARRIER CORP 25 April 1972 [18 Nov 1971] 19100/72 Heading FIT A gas turbine has an exhaust diffuser tube 27 which is extended to define with a concentric nose piece 30 an annular working fluid inlet passage to the rotor blades 49, the tube 27 having spaced apertures in each of which a nozzle blade 55 is detachably positioned, a split clamping band 60 being disposed around the tube to retain blades 55 and urge them against nose piece 30. The ends of band 60 have flanges 61 through which pass clamping bolts 63. Tube 27 is supported by engagement of a shoulder 35 on tube portion 26 within a circular opening in casing wall 25 and is held axially in position by the radial flange 40 of inlet duct 37 secured to wall 25 by bolts 41. Nose piece 30 is supported by engagement of four radial lugs 31 within a counterbore in tube portion 26, the lugs being retained axially by a flange 43 on duct 37. The turbine forms part of an exhaust gas driven turbosupercharger unit.
