Class 110(3) In a gas turbine plant having a multistage turbine comprising a number of turbine rotors connected to drive a single shaft, the guide vanes of a low-pressure stage are adapted to be choked in operation and a temperature-sensitive element is located between the guide vanes of the high-pressure stage and the throat of the guide vanes of the said low-pressure stage. In the two-stage gas turbine shown, comprising guide vanes 16, 17 and rotor blades 18, 19, a temperature-sensitive element 23, such as a thermocouple or electrical resistance element, is accommodated within a hollow low-pressure guide vane 17 and is connected to an indicating or control means. The element may instead be located between the blades 18 and vanes 17.
