586,554. Gas turbines. BAUMANN, K., and METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. Nov. 22, 1941, No. 15077. [Class 110 (iii)] In a combustion product jet-propulsion plant, high-pressure contra-rotational turbine blades 3a drive a high-pressure air-compressor 3 and low-pressure contra-rotational turbine blades I drive a lesser number of outer air blading rings 1a and inner low-pressure air-compressor bladings 1b. Air from the bladings 1 a passes in part to mix with the turbine exhaust going to the propulsion jet and in part through cross-over ducts 11 to the low-pressure air-compressor. Or the whole of the air from blading 1a may pass to the jet and the air-compressor may receive air from an outermost duct 13. Or, air for the compressor may pass through bladings situated between the low-pressure turbine blading and the outer air blading. Specifications 586,551, 586,552 and 586,553 are referred to.
