722,124. Liquid-fuel burners. LUCAS (INDUSTRIES), Ltd., J. April 23, 1953 [April 29, 1952], No. 10729/52. Class 75 (1). A sleeve c inwardly flanged at one end extends over parts of the side and front end of a liquid fuel injection nozzle a to provide passages b, d through which air is directed inwardly over the nozzle outlet, and the inwardly turned flange of the sleeve c is intersected by slots f through which a part of the air stream is discharged and which are adapted to impart rotation to the air passing therethrough. The longitudinal sides of the slots f are inclined relatively to the faces of the flange, and the slots are directed inwardly either radially or tangentially. The front end of the sleeve c may alternatively, be of truncated conical form.
