Abstract

1,168,593. Spray burners. ROLLS-ROYCE Ltd. 24 May, 1968, No. 24988/68. Heading F4T. A fuel injector for a gas turbine engine comprises a hollow body 21 to which air is supplied and whose interior surface is fed with fuel from concentrically arranged main and pilot fuel nozzles which open tangentially into the interior of the hollow body. In operation an annulus of fuel is formed in the hollow body which mixes with air and exits from the body at a lip 27a to an outlet 35 past a conical deflector 28, and the mixture is further atomized by an air stream from passages 33.
