Abstract

716,959. Electrostatic filters. HEINRICH, D. O. Jan. 16, 1952 [April 13, 1951], No. 8624/51. Class 39(1) In a two-stage electrostatic precipitator, the non-discharge electrodes of the ionization zone are rotatable tubes located behind shields placed upstream in relation to the tubes. The tubes may be fitted with blades for rotation by the gas stream. Two rotating tubes 9, 10 may be arranged behind a single shield 11. the tubes being rotated as shown. The discharge electrodes may be wires 12, or semi-circular tubes, the edges facing the non-discharge electrodes. The shields may have metallic brushes or needle points facing the rotating tubes. Radioactive material may be provided on the shields.
