Abstract

950,565. Electrostatic precipitators. KONINKLIJKE MACHINEFABRIEK GEB. STORK & CO. N.V. Nov. 30, 1962 [Nov. 30, 1961], No. 45336/62. Heading B2J. Collecting electrodes with the sinuous section shown in the drawing have dust traps 9, 10, comprised of ribs 5 with T-head plates 6, built into the troughs. Discharge electrodes with points 8 are staggered alternately off the axis of the channel between the electrodes. The gas flow takes the path indicated with a tendency for particles borne by the gas to be thrown into the forward facing traps 10 as the gas flow changes direction and other particles to be drawn into the backward facing traps 9 as the result of reduced pressure in front of the discharge electrode.
