709,656. Telephone instruments. LITTMANN, R. Nov. 15, 1951 [Nov. 24, 1950], No. 26798/51. Class 40 (4) A telephone receiver, microphone or small loudspeaker has a one-piece or multi-piece magnet 6 formed as an open ring. The magnet is secured with a pole disc 5 and a combined centre-pole 14 and bottom plate 14a in a casing 1 of thermo-plastic material. The ring magnet 6 is located by abutments 9, 10, Fig. 4, on the casing 1. One of the magnet pieces 7 may be replaced by a substitute arcuate, piece 13 of smaller radial width. The centre pole is cut away below the gap to provide extra clearance if the moving-coil diaphragm 3 should tilt. The leads from the coil are taken through the gap 11 and soldered respectively to the bottom plate 14a and to an annular contact disc 19, which are separated by an insulating disc 16.
