Abstract
704,758. Rod and tube joints. PYM, V. F., and DOWSON, P. M. Sept. 21, 1951 [June 22, 1950], No. 15665/50. Class 99 (1). [Also in Group X] A structure includes a joint for aligned tubes 5, 6 and aligned tubes at right angles comprising a ball 15, Fig. 10, on which the tubes seat and which has two diametrical holes 17 at right angles through which cables 7, 18 pass. The ball 15 may be in two parts 19, 20, Fig. 15, each having a passage 21 for one cable and in this modification the two halves of the'ball may be clamped together by bolts 26 and plates 25 engaging flattened surfaces 23 on the ball.
