847,569. Universal joints. DANA CORPORATION. Dec. 16, 1958 [Dec. 19, 1957], No. 40486/58. Class 80 (2). A constant velocity universal joint comprises inner 10 and outer 14 members movable about a fixed intersection 26, connected by balls 20 in arcuate grooves 22, 24, the surfaces of certain registering grooves diverging in one axial direction and the surfaces of the other registering grooves diverging in the other axial direction, the grooves being concentric to points 28, 30 in the joint axis equally spaced from the intersection 26. The balls 20 are retained in a cage 18.
