Abstract

1336129 Universal joints SKF (UK) Ltd 8 Dec 1970 [14 Nov 1969] 55899/69 Heading F2U In a constant velocity universal joint of the type in which part spherical members on the coupled elements are connected by caged balls 24 in axial grooves 28, 32 in the members, the bases of the grooves are straight and converge to one end of the joint when the coupled elements are axially aligned. The inner and outer grooves are preferably equally inclined at an angle of approximately 5 degrees to the axis. In the double joint shown each joint is sealed by a rigid end cover 45 and a flexible corrugated cover 13 with reinforcing rings 47 as described in Specification 1,336,130.
