704,041. Flexible couplings. DAIMLER-BENZ AKT.-GES. Nov. 28, 1951 [Nov. 28, 1950], No. 27915/51. Class 80 (2) In a flexible coupling comprising a pack of flexible rings 2 secured by bolts 15, 16 to arms 11a, 12a on coupling members 11, 12 splined to shafts 1a, 1, centring means comprises a ball member 8 slidable and rotatable on an extension 9 of shaft 1a and engaging a two-part socket member, one socket part 4b being formed in the hub 4a of a disc 4 secured by the bolt 16 to the member 12 while the other socket part 5 is pressed against the ball by a spring 6 abutting against a closure disc 7 in. the hub 4a. An elastic ring 17 is interposed between the end of hub 4a and a nut 10 threaded on the extension 9. The hub 4a contains grease for lubricating the ball-and-socket joint.
