Abstract

864,388. Universal joints. METALASTIK Ltd. Oct. 14, 1958 [Jan. 14, 1958], No. 1324/58. Addition to 783,342. Class 80 (2). A universal joint according to the parent Specification wherein a rubber sleeve 6 is precompressed axially and radially between doubleconed inner and outer shaft members 5, 11 by drawing together by screws 13 the two separate parts 11, 12 forming the outer shaft member, has the rubber sleeve bonded to the inner member 5 and to a two-part double-coned metal sleeve 7 inserted between the rubber sleeve 6 and outer member 11, 12 and is secured to the latter by the screws 13 which pass through holes in flanges 8 on the sleeve 7.
