A seal for a sliding splined coupling between a shaft 3 and a sleeve 2 forming one part of a universal joint 1, comprises an outer sleeve 7 carrying at its opposite ends a rubber ring 11 sprung into a groove in the shaft 3, and a seal ring 10 sliding on the sleeve 2. In addition the sleeve 2 carries a seal 6 sliding on the splines of the shaft 3.
