872,877. Universal joints. BIRFIELD ENGINEERING Ltd. July 22, 1959 [July 22, 1958], No. 23439/58. Class 80 (2). In a Hooke's joint each journal 5 of the intermediate member 4 is mounted in a bush 8 of rubber or like resilient material pressed into an open-ended tapered sleeve 6 in the fork 2 by a washer 10 secured to the end of the journal by a set-screw 11, the outer end of the sleeve having a radiused flange so that it does not cut into the outwardly expanded portion of the bush 8. The sleeve 6 is provided with a shoulder 7a for locating it in the fork 2.
