Abstract
698,186. Exhaust silencers. SANDERS, R. J. Sept. 20, 1951 [Sept. 20, 1950]. No. 23039/50. Class 7 (ii). Perforated inlet and outlet pipes 14, 18 extend into a cylindrical expansion chamber 10 and are secured together e.g. by welding, at their inner ends 20 which are closed by a plug 17 fixed in one pipe and partly disposed in the other pipe. The end caps 12 of the chamber through which the pipes pass in gas-tight engagement may be domed, and the space 21 in the chamber may be filled with glass wool.
