Abstract

680.376. Exhaust-silencers. KYFFIN, F. H June 30, 1950. No. 16358/50. Class 7 (ii). A transverse baffle 16 has a peripheral flange 23 circumferentially-spaced notches 24 in which render the flange resilient so that the baffle can be forced into a casing 12. The notches may be V- shaped. The silencer may comprise an inner tubular member 13 forming, with the casing, an annular space 14 through which the gases flow, and a chamber packed with sound-absorbing material such as glass wool.
