Nov. 15, 1950 [Sept. 2, 1949], No. 22827/49: Class 51(i) A hot water magazine boiler of the type in which fuel stored in the magazine g'ravitates down a fuel slope from a hopper discharge orifice to the combustion zone is characterized by the provision of a multi-tined member 8 disposed within the primary air space 6 of the boiler and mounted for movement into the fuel pile so as to-retain the fuel pile on the fuel slope whilst ash and clinker are removed. The tined member may be curved and moved by a link mechanism 10a as shown in Fig. 5 or may be flat and slide horizontally into the fuel pile: the member is actuated by a lever 10 on the exterior of the furnace.
